Linen breathes in a way cotton and jersey don't, which matters when something sits against your hairline all day in summer. It doesn't get damp and heavy, it doesn't flatten your hair, and it holds a knot instead of slipping loose by midday.

Square bandanas, triangle head scarves, and small tie-back kerchiefs that go on in ten seconds. Some carry embroidery of my own design, drawn by hand and stitched on my machine.
